FSD pools - 2026/2027

our goal for 2026 is to open an opt-in 'car pool' system.

how it will work;

if you are based in an FSD unsupervised service zone, and you want to grow a fleet of cars and also want to be able to 'book' a CyberTruck for a day or a week or longer for camping, road-trips etc, you can 'swap' robo cab earnings with the other pool members to 'rent' a CyberTruck from the pool.

this with start with small groups of ~10x owners and ~20x+ cars, each owner may have 2x HW4/5 Model Y cars that work primarily as robo cabs [assuming Tesla allows for privately owned cars to join the robo cab fleet in 2026/2027] - if each car earns $150 per day for the own, and if all owners have 2x cars in the fleet, with no 'rentals' each person will net 14x $150 = $2,100/wk to cover loan costs and profits, but, one member may also own 4x CyberTrucks, they may earn $200/day as robo cabs, but a person in the pool may book a CT for $60 extra per-day - i.e. the $150 that they make from the Y they own and $60 extra will go to the CT owner = $210 per day to the owner net.

This is a quick overview of how we plan to set pricing in the app - we will work with the pool owners to allow each pool to set the rates and earnings split from the pool by way of voting by the owners [one vote per car in fleet, with 2-votes for any CyberTruck as the car is twice the unit value of the Y]

getting into the weeds;

We imagine that a perron that has 2x cars in the fleet will want to at times use one of the cars for a few hrs or a few days at a time - our app will allow people to book a car from the fleet for a direct sacrifice of the funds that are not generated by the robo cab usage, this may be rates like;

book one car for 24hrs -$150

book one car for 4hrs -$60

book one car for one trip -$20 [under 15mi/45min]

book one car for one trip -$40 [from 16mi~50mi/120min]

above values will just be this deduction form the pool earnings split at end of week than you would get if you booked zero car time - i.e. if you take 3x 40mi trips and 1x 24hr block, your $2,100 earnings would drop to $1830 [after your $150 and 3x $40 is paid back to the pool].

you will also be abler to 'sacrifice' funds back to the pool if you ask for other pool members to do the cleaning and charging of your cars - fees are all TBC and will be custom values for each pool group.
